July 9th

Hello all,

I can't play poker.

Today is a great day! The weather is beautiful and the sun is shining. How should a day like this be spent?

How about a run?

Well, I would agree but I got up to late this morning. I need to go for a long run soon. I have a course picked out that would total 14 miles. I want to run it, but have not had the time, In all honesty. It takes about 4 hours of my day to do such a run. When I go out for a run like that, I tend to take moments and enjoy the view, I write, I think, and I clear my mind.

So how about a new experience then?

Well that sounds like a great idea! Today starts the second day of my quarter staff class with Jenny Male.

At the end of this class I will be able to take a skills profiency test. If I pass then I will be reconized by the SAFD in that weapon! :)

We have to have approximately 30 hours with the weapon to get tested. Today we have a 2 hour class on the main stage. It will be much excite to see what new thing I learn with the quater staff.

This class interested me becuase in one of the battles in Trcumseh! I use a spear and this class will help me better understand the weapon and I can use this knowledge to make the fight look stronger.

I will keep you all posted on the happenings with this class over the next 2 weeks! I will be a thrilling adventure to follow along!:)

In other news:

Ashley (our makeup artist) and I (plus many others) will be taking adventurs to abandoned places in Ohio!:) look out for a posting or two about these adventures!!!

Have a great week!

July 4th Celebration on the Mountain

Hello,

I hope you all had a safe and amazing 4th of July! It is crazy to think that it is already July! It means that I will be graduating in 5 months!! WOW! Anyways, I have to talk about what we did on the Mountain for the 4th.

As you all should know, the 4th landed on a Friday and we had a show. Now much celebrating that day. However, we held our celebration on July 6th.

We had many activities. Including the famous Road Race or as it should be called this year: Mountain Race, for we did not run in the road. The course was about 2.4 miles long.

This year I did not run because of joint pain and I need to make sure that I take care of my self!

The great thing about the Road Race is that you have to get sponsored to participate. The sponsor usually makes you wear something. It can be a t-shirt, sharpie, or (to your left) a bra with a mustache. Elisha was sponsored by the Clubmen. She wore that bra as she ran the race.

We had 9 participants this year and each were sponsored by someone in the cast or a group of people in the cast. From the Control Tower to Creane's Dead Body. Then they ran at 11am.

After the race was finished, we all started to get ready for the July 4th picnic!

This year, we had a Desert cook off! About a handful made deserts, including me. The only rules to the contest were: have it on the table at the time of the Picnic to be judged. Two categories were chosen: Best in appearance, and best tasting. Winner would get a $20 gift card to Coffee Craze and Rayz.

I decided to make a Banana Split Desert. It had 5 different kinds of fruit! I woke up at 6:30am to start making it on sunday.

To the right was my desert. I apologize for not being able to rotate the image for you all. But there it is. I won for best Appearance! Holy, who made an amazing Strawberry Dump Cake won for best tasting. Let me tell you that cake was incredible!

We had a wide variety for deserts from a Cheesecake to Oreo Balls. All of them were incredible!!

I should mention the judges were picked randomly out of a hat!

After the decision was made on the deserts the food was open to all! Let the Games begin.

Our Desert Table!

Cook out time!

Four Square anyone?

Volleyball.. Sand Volleyball that is.
Deer Nuts and Corn hole!!

Above you and enjoy looking at all of the activities that we had. From Volleyball to Foursquare and we even had CHALK!! It was an amazing day, and the weather could not have been any better! I will be posting the rest of the images on Facebook later today! Check them out when you get a chance!!

After the Picnic, a group of us went to see 'Deliver Us from Evil'. I will say that it was entertaining, but the storyline was not the strongest. However, I did not feel like it was a waste of my $7!

That concludes our adventures of July 4th on the Mountain! I hope each and every single one of you all had a memorable July 4th! Have a safe and pleasant week!

Until Next Time,

Show update pt 3

In the final show update I will discuss what happens during pre-show and post-show.

Preshow madness?? Na there is no madness that happens.

However is does take some time to get ready for this amazing show!

First off show starts at 8pm. What time do you think I start to get ready??

6pm! It takes me a good 25 minutes to get my body paint on.

Another 5 minutes to paint my face

Another 10 minutes to pre-set everything

That usually gives me about 10-20 minutes (depending how slow I am) to play some games of Ninja!

Ninja is an awesome game where you have to hit their hand. If you hit anywhere else it does not count. One move and one reaction is allowed.

After these games, we have company call at 7pm on the dot!

At company we talk about everything from Combat notes, horse notes, make-up notes, and also acting notes.

After notes we do our warmups. Vocal and body! It is a great time to get ready for the show. After this we usually have about 25 minutes till places. Some people finish up pre-sets, some finish up costumes. I make sure to relax and have a drink of water!

That is pre-show.

Post show is simple: put everything back where it belongs!;)

Before post-show we have one of the coolest things ever: Meet and greet!!

If you see the show, please take the extra 5 mins to go through meet and greet!

Just the other day I met someone from Stockholm!! It was amazing to see that they loved the show!! For me this is my favorite part of the show. Getting to see the smiles on their faces, the excitement they have. Knowning that they have been impacted by this show somehow. Just like I was impacted wht sleep no more!!

Please spend the extra 5-10 minutes to go through meet and greet!

Love you all

Show update pt 2

To continue the series on show update.

Focus today is on Act 2!

Yesterday I left at intermission. What happens at this point?

A 15 minute break! Yes I get to sit down....said no one ever!:) I don't have to rush, but I get all of my Kothee stuff on underneath my 2.2 stuff. Fix my makeup so that Ashley won't yell at me!:) then head to the top.

2.1

This is the Drill! An absolutely amazing part of the show! Hearing that many guns go off at the same time is incredible!! I am no where near the stage at this point, just getting ready for 2.2

2.2

The council! A great moment between Black Hoof and Tecumseh! Both battle it out in a debate of power. Who will win, I don't know, but I am sitting top level of the stage right prom look down at them. I feel that I should have been blocked to have popcorn to watch this argument unfold!:)

2.3/2.4

Not in these scenes, however this starts, what I call, the chain. That is the name I have given it. What it means that this marks the first change to Kothee. You will see what I mean in a few words.

2.5

After a change to Kothee, I have this beautiful scene with Tensk! Watch for me running across stage to alert Tensk about Tecumseh coming back! Haha someone is about to get in trouble.

This scene takes place on the Stage Right Prom, mid level.

I don't want to give out any spoilers, so I will continue.

2.6

Not in this scene, but pay attention! This scene is very important! Well every scene is important. They all need each other to work.

After exiting SR, I run over to SL to change back to general indian for 2.7.

This change is roughly half of what the last change was. I would say a solid 90-120 seconds. I may be off my rocker, but it feels like that.

2.7

Enter SL prom with my favorite Headdress on! This scene we could see a break out of war!:) will it happen? I guess you will have to see it and find out!!

2.8

After leaving 2.7, that second that I am off stage, I start to take off items.

Once we have been given the cue to move freely backstage becuase of horses, I have to SPRINT!!

Take the headdress off and grab everything I have to race over to SR to change to Kothee!

This is a super quick change! So quick that I use the amazing help from the Stage manager!!

To change to Kothee from a general indian this is what happens:

Change costume
Change chest plate
Change wig

Have a few seconds to look good
Get on stage!

I would say that I have a total 2 minutes from the start of the Sprint to waking on stage. That is not a lot of time at all!!

2.8b

Enter SR prom and light a firepit!!!that made me super duper excited this year to light one!;)

I also get to be next to the POOF POTS! It is super awesome feeling that heat!

Ok I can't spoil this scene, but it is awesome!!

2.8c

This is the favorite battle of them all!

This is the BIG BOY!

Many explosions, gun fire, crazy combat, and much death!;)

Look for me doing a roll center stage.

Hint: this roll is a cue for the next reciprocal to go off!;)

And let it be known that Kothee, who followed Tenks this whole time, is killed!

2.9

The last of the "Chain"! I change back into general Indian and get ready to stage on stage for the rest of the show!:)

If you don't know why I called it the chain, here is why:

2.2 general indian
2.5 Kothee
2.7 General
2.8 Kothee
2.9 General

It has created a chain!;)

Ok moving on!

2.10

After being on stage, a small battle happens, I make the smart decsion to leave. I have my backstory why I leave! We can get into that later!:)

After the Battle, and certain events happen. I am apart of another favorite moment of the show. I carry off someone! I have to be vague, some people don't like spoliers!;)

That ends the show!

Then it is the coolest part of the show: Meet and Greet!! That will be discussed in pt. 3 tomorrow!

This year is really cool. Last year I used a lot of fire, this year I get to carry a lot of people! 4 to be exact, and I get carried once!;)

You may have notice that I used "favoirte" a lot. That was not on accident. There are way to many moments in his show that I simply love that I can't have one favorite moment.

Later on this season I want to write a post about the major battle and what happens. Tell you some secerts about the battle! You would be the only people that would know, along with the cast!;)

Anyways I have some stuff to do, have an amazing weekend!!
